Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I wait, after an application, to water my lawn?

After an application we recommend waiting 6 to 12 hours before watering to allow the treatment to take effect. Please reference your invoice left at your home, for any special instructions. When it is very hot and dry, it is important that you water your lawn the day that you had an application applied to it. If you have any questions, please contact your local office.

I have children and pets. How soon after an application can they be allowed on the lawn?

We recommend people and pets stay off the lawn until dry (approximately 1 to 2 hours) and then follow the instructions on your invoice as to watering and cutting.

How does your deep root tree and shrub fertilization work? How soon after this application should we water?

We offer a spring and fall deep root fertilization service. The fertilizer is injected into the soil using a probe to ensure the fertilizer reaches the root zone. After an application it is recommended you give the trees and shrubs a good watering to assist with nutrient uptake.

Do I need to be home when you service my residential property?

As long as our team can access your property (no locked gates) and there are no animals in the yard, you don’t need to be home when we service your property.

I have a dog and locked gate. Will you call to let me know when you will be coming to my property?

At the time of booking your service appointment, we will ask you if you have in-ground sprinklers, locked gates and animals. If you do, then we will make a note to “call ahead” before visiting your property. Although we cannot let you know exactly what time we will be at your property, we can let you know what day we will be coming, weather allowing.

I had a call yesterday that my property would be serviced today, but it's raining. Will the appointment be rescheduled for the next day?

If weather conditions interfere (strong winds or heavy rain) then your application may be delayed until the next good day, weather permitting. We don’t apply applications to residential properties on Saturdays. If you had a call saying we would be there on Friday, we will reschedule for Monday so your family can enjoy your property on the weekend without interruption.

It rained after an application was applied to my lawn. Will you return to redo the service?

Please call your local office if you have any questions on this as it depends on what services you had done, length of rainfall and how long it was after the product was applied.

How long will it take for the weed control to start working after it is applied?

Within 2 to 3 days you should start seeing results of the application (weeds will start dying).  After 7 to 10 days, if the weeds don’t appear to be under control, please contact us and we will check back on your site.  For lawns with an excessive amount of weeds, it may take multiple applications to get them under control.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes, we do, it is called GO Bucks. If you refer someone who purchases our service, we will give you a $20.00 coupon to use at face value toward any of our services at any time throughout the year, even with renewals. It’s that easy and there is no limit on the number of GO Bucks that you can receive!

Will you automatically renew my services from year to year or do I need to rebook?

We don’t automatically renew your services each year. You need to rebook.

Do you offer environmentally friendly organic fertilizers?

Yes, we offer an organic fertilizer through our sister company, Earth Smart Solutions.  It is formulated with complex carbohydrates, macro and micro nutrients, amino acids, enzymes, proteins, vitamins, minerals and a variety of natural substances for soil and plant improvement.

What mowing techniques do you recommend?

  • Mow your lawn regularly (3 – 4 times per month) depending on growth
  • Height of grass should be 2.5 – 3 inches or  6.25 – 7.50 cm height after cutting
  • Keep your mower blade sharp
  • Never remove more than 1/3 of leaf blade
  • You can leave the grass clippings on the lawn if you are cutting on a regular basis and not leaving more than 1/3 of the leaf blade on the lawn

How often should I water my lawn?

  • Water your lawn 2.5 cm per week or 1 inch / 1 to 2 hours per area
  • Water in the early morning. It is best to avoid overnight watering.
  • Increase frequency if you encounter dry periods
  • Deep weekly watering encourages deep rooting compared to infrequent sparse watering

What is deep core aeration?

Deep Core Aeration removes small plugs of thatch and soil from the lawn, allowing your lawn to breathe.  These plugs are then left on your lawn to decompose, with the holes filling in within a few weeks, depending on time of year, weather and soil conditions.
